Flora Borsi — retouch that consists of inconsistent
Nowadays it is becoming more and more difficult not to get lost in the modern art. We are overloaded with gigabytes of conceptual information that often swallows our minds and distracts our attention. That is why sometimes we need a shelter under the wings of real aesthetic surrealism. Such wings are kindly provided by by Flora Brosi — the master of photo manipulations and retouch. Watch and enjoy!
It might seem odd, but Flora is a self-taught photographer and she can not boast by a famous photographic family or expensive schools of applying photography. But what can really be the subject of her showing off are her personal exhibitions around Europe and the US, including Louvre and Saatchi Gallery. This makes us understand that the quality of her works and her own professionalism are now far beyond the amateur photography and retouch, and have now become the example for many modern artists.
The list of Borsi’s projects is pretty impressive, plus all of them are very well-thought, structured and amplitudinous. Usually her works are united by one common idea: combination, diffusion, co-existence of everything around us, including us. The past and the present in the Detroit project, imaginative and realistic in the project The Real Life Models; the humanitive and animalistic in the project Animeyed.
It is worthy to pay a little bit more of your attention on this last one. The thing is that in this project Flora not only made a perfect combination of the beauty of nature, her self-portraits and her talent. Thanked to her imagination and the marvelous retouch she reincarnates a part of her own self into the most bright, gracious and expressive animals, while the animals are becoming a part of herself. Of course, it could not look so gorgeous without a highly professional stylists: hair, make-up, bodyart give these pictures an absolute harmony and integrity. Such a grandiose work was done to put the using of numerous photo editors to the minimum. Flora herself says: “The editor software is just a tool to complete my pictures, I want to make an image, which looks like a real, unedited photo. My goal is to inspire the viewer to think, to feel what I felt.
She also often mentions that she is not aimed to make her works perfect. She has even created a project that reflects her vision on imperfection of beautiful models (project Stockify.).
Naturalness and maximum closeness to the reality — this is what makes the works of the Hungarian artist really unique. And we are sure that many of them will come at your taste!
